Welcome to the Alpha Rho Alumni Association of Chi Psi
Here you can stay in touch with your alumni Brothers, learn about all the undergrad happenings at Alpha Rho, and find ways to get more involved in your Fraternity!!
The Alpha Rho Alumni Association (APAA) is a 501(c)(7) non-profit corporation that owns and maintains The Alpha Rho Lodge and property at 114 College Ave. The APAA collects fees from the active Brotherhood for living expenses and meal plans, and keeps an ongoing dialog with the undergraduate leadership. The APAA also pays all taxes and insurance and covers all maintenance and upkeep of the Lodge to keep it Rutgers' finest address!
Active brother dues and generous donations from our many dedicated Alpha Rho alumni also cover a dedicated, in-house chef utilizing our kitchen and a maintenance contract with a cleaning company to make sure the Lodge is always looking its best!
The Association completed a $1.7MM major renovation of the Lodge in 2019.
This major renovation campaign included:
Gutting the inside of the Lodge to replace aging wiring and piping
Renovating all the study rooms and converting the 3rd floor “Dorms” into additional study rooms
Adding an internal staircase on the Bartlett Street side of the Lodge and upgrading the Alumni Advisor’s apartment
Replacing the 2nd floor windows and adding an elevator for any Brothers and guests with disabilities.
Further activities in the subsequent summers included painting the exterior of the Lodge, replacing the kitchen floor to facilitate cleaning and draining, replacing the first and third floor windows, and the back patio - plus upgrading the fencing around the property, and the outside security cameras. In 2024, we entered into an agreement with a general contractor to perform preventative maintenance continuously on the Lodge and grounds.
So brothers, if you haven't been to the Lodge in a while, you need to come by and see these major improvements, but check out the website archives first after you register. See you soon!
Yours In The Bonds,
Alpha Rho Alumni Association

A Thing of Spirit
"Keeping ever before us the desire to be loyal to our Alma Mater and our Fraternity, the desire to develop the best that is in us but at the same time submerge our own interests in the interests of others, and the desire to be an active man in college, an affectionate and wise husband in the home, a tireless and good humored bread winner, and a clean sportsman in all recreations, we will slowly approach not only the ideal Chi Psi but the ideal citizen and American."
- Roger M. Hawthorne, Bowdoin 1928
